They arrived last Monday afternoon at around 230pm. We just hung out, they played, laughed, danced, sang and made some pizzas for dinner! Joanna taught Asher how to catch ants (he was truly amazed "How does she do that?! It's amazing!") and other bugs! Nobody really loved the pizzas that were made for dinner, so next time we will just order them haha. Elena did a great job putting them together, the crust was just a bit different tasting. Oh well, you live and learn. They did enjoy the root beer floats that came afterwards though. I enjoyed teasing Joanna about not liking the floats- she is getting older and can handle that sort of banter now, which I like!
Everyone slept well, and Amanda and I enjoyed chatting on the couch until about 130am! It was awesome to catch up, laugh and pray together. I am so thankful for her!
The next morning Hope had her swim lesson, then we met at the MiniBar donut shop. The donuts were a hit, and then we made it to the beach with a picnic lunch in tow.
Man did they like the beach! Hannah desperately wanted to go out in the deeper water to join her big cousins, which was cute to watch. Asher even got in (it was a calm day) for awhile! It's fun to watch them grow and mature, as much as I hate them getting older, there are fun things about it too (like they can dress themselves and get their own snacks!).
After the beach the Salis took a dip in the pool, and I took my kids home so Hope could go down for a nap.
We never got one group picture, but I chased everyone around, trying to practice my photog skills. It didn't go so well indoors, but I had fun trying! Thanks again cousins! My kids were very sad when they left. Hannah cried, and Asher stood at the end of the driveway, not taking his eyes off their van until they disappeared out of the neighborhood!!! This bodes well for the future!!
I made a video of the fun, you can check it out here!
