First T Ball Experience

Saturday morning was a big day for us!  After a big week of starting school, Asher had his first t-ball experience.  He was very nervous, and when we arrived at the field he had a few tears, poor thing!
However, once he saw the other team before us playing and got a big more comfy with his surroundings he did great.  I love that even though he's nervous he pushes through and does the experience, without totally panicking.  So proud of our little guy growing up!
I'm so glad he does that, because he ended up having a blast!  We assured him that Daddy was going to be on the field with him as an assistant coach, and Mommy and Hannah would be watching and cheering for him, and off he went!
The first 30 minutes were drills, instructions and some practice, then half the team turned their shirts to the other side and a 2 inning game commenced!  Each kid (all boys on his team, though there were girls on the team that played before and after us) got to hit the ball off the tee, and no score was kept.  After a hit the kids on the infield were encouraged to go after the ball, and return it to the head coach.  The head coach was great- very encouraging and high energy, despite the sweltering heat!
I was unfortunately in the bathroom with Hannah when Asher has his turn at batting, but Jayme said he hit a great line drive, and ran to first base!  Yay Asher!
At the end of the game he came off the field with a big grin on his face, saying "I love baseball practice!  It was a great baseball practice!"  Win!
He got to pick where we ate lunch, and chose Chick-fil-a.  So off we went for a yummy lunch, and both kids were all smiles.  I asked him what he liked best about baseball and he said "The coaches- Daddy Coach!"  He loved that Jayme was out there with him.  And he did great, even though Jayme was with other kids most of the time!  Love our sweet boy and watching him mature.  Great great morning as a family!
Oh since they all look similar with the same shirt and hat, I kept looking for his neon yellow shoes!  That's how I spot him quickly in the videos and pictures :)

I'm not so sure about this guys!

Daddy Coach!  He did awesome too :)

Maybe this won't be so bad....

He's a very good listener- was instructed to sit on the bench, after warm up.  He's kinda hard to spot in the video, but look for the yellow shoes and #7 on his shirt...

Cutest cheerleader on the field!                                                    Daddy Coach at first base!

Water break!  It was "only" 83 but definitely felt like 100- Hannah and I are bringing more water, a spray bottle and an umbrella this weekend!

One of the practice drills- catching a grounder and throwing it back to the coach

Got back from the bathroom in time to see him on first base... below is the video of him running from 3rd to home...

We found some shade about halfway through practice!

He's in the middle crouching down....

Still crouching :)

Happy Boy! :)

At Chickfila after practice!
