As during the first practice, the kids were split into groups for drills. Asher and Jayme were not together, but Asher is a really good rule follower and did great! He was at fielding first- they had to get down low, grab the ball as it came to them, and throw it back to the coach.
Next he went to hitting with the head coach (whose name I don't actually know haha). He likened the bat to a light saber! Not that Asher knows what that is but.... he has been batting right handed but is actually stronger on the left side, so I think next week Jayme said he's going to have them try him left handed- we shall see!
After two drills the game began. Asher was first up for his team and had a great hit! He is getting the hang of where to go next, and it's so fun to watch his cute little face while he's running. When running from 2nd to 3rd he had a herd of boys coming toward him to get the ball- it was cute watching him avoid getting hit!!!
Here's him in the field. He started out paying close attention to the "game" but then, in typical 3 year old fashion, got distracted :). Daddy Coach is behind him - so fun!
We were also blessed to have Aunt Abby with us for the excitement this morning. Always nice to have her with us! Hannah enjoyed the Aunt Abby time as well, and sat very nicely in her cute new butterfly chair. She really wants to play t ball too "I want to do dat!" So sweet. She was also very excited about the rock she found, and gave Asher big hugs when he came off the field- "I hug him." She also copied the mom next to us who said "Good job Asher!" when he came off the field.
We definitely saw improvement in all the kids between week one and week two. They catch on quick people! We ate lunch at PDQ (chosen by our tball kid) and then went home for various projects around the house, including a nap for this preggo woohoo!! 39 weeks people! Yeah! I feel like I've been pregnant forever haha.
Great day with the family! Love to all!
