He is risen, indeed. We are so thankful for the gift of Jesus, for without Him we'd be lost forever.
We had a great day with family! The kids were completely nuts- they were even more crazy than at Christmas! And this was in the morning before church or any sugar. I'm glad they had a great day, though Jayme and I were exhausted! Grama and Papa W. drove up that morning and joined us at the house before we headed to the 10am service at church. After church we went home and had a yummy meal made by the Honeybaked Ham Store. Aunt Abby joined us for lunch and our egg hunt!
I was at my hair appointment on Saturday afternoon when I realized the restaurant reservations I had made were for a super special Easter brunch and were $49 PER PERSON! I almost fell out of my hair stylist's chair! This was at about 4pm the day before Easter. Needless to say, we didn't want to spend that much on brunch, and everywhere was booked up. Thankfully the Honeybaked Ham Store was open until 8pm! I drove my little van over right quick and grabbed a bunch of food. Whew!
While all the food was heating up we did an Easter egg hunt for the kids. They weren't expecting any baskets from the bunny, and were surprised and happy to see a basket for each of them. As Asher said, "this is so awesome!" The bunny went a bit over the top this year, giving them each a costume for the cruise, as well as a plush doll/animal, and a towel for the pool, along with some smaller goodies. After they looked at their baskets, they turned their eyes to the eggs! They found quarters, erasers, a few pieces of candy and Hannah even ended up with some undies in her eggs! The kids also received gifts from Grama and Papa, and are enjoying them a lot today! The rest of the afternoon was spent playing with new toys and opening and playing with the eggs. I think it was a successful day! Thank you Abby, Grama and Papa for making it a special day!
