Playground Fun

Nothing earthshattering happened today, it was just a good day!  I got my workout in this morning after breakfast, and the world was our oyster so to speak.  Hannah has been asking to go to the playground recently, so we packed up and went to the one near Jayme's office.  Playgrounds can be challenging in terms of the kids wanting to go in two different directions, but they did really awesome at staying with me and taking turns deciding where they wanted to go.  Asher ended up playing with a little girl who is also 4 named Heidi.  She was trying to play with my kids but they weren't totally paying attention (Asher was getting Hannah to play sea lion high).  I helped them all introduce themselves and then told Asher I thought she wanted to play.  He looked right at her and said 'want to play hide and seek?'  And that was it!  I am still in shock that this is the same little kid that would not leave my side not that long ago.  It makes me really happy and proud, but also sad because he is growing up.  He looks and acts like a kid these days, and not a little boy.  I am cherishing the days , and relishing every hug and kiss.
Hannah was very into the swing and I was thankfully able to push her while watching Asher play his game.  Hope did awesome in the carrier, and even fell asleep eventually.
We also had our first peer pressure situation haha.  There was an older kid who was telling all the younger kids what to do and where to go.  Asher got caught up in it and so I called him over and said he needed to not follow this kid.  I told him he needs to make his own decisions about what to do and where to go , and not just do what the kid said.  The kid's mom was nowhere to be found bleh.  Anyways he wanted Asher to go out of the area we were in and Asher replied 'I have to stay here with my mom.  She's that lady over there.'  Since when am I 'mom' and not mommy?! The kid also wanted Asher to go into the sand box, which I had vetoed as soon as we arrived, and to his credit Asher said 'no my mom says I can't go in there.'  He also noticed there was a slide blocked off bc it has a crack in it, and yet some of the kids were going under the wooden slats that had been nailed to it so they could slide down anyway.  Asher said to them 'that's not such a good idea.'  I loved it!  So proud of my little guy.
After we were all played out we went to pick Jayme up from his office so we could enjoy lunch with him.  It was a gorgeous day- warm but with a cool breeze, and we sat outside at Zoe's Kitchen and enjoyed our meal before dropping Daddy back off at work.  Good clean fun:).
