A couple of weekends ago he promised them a dollar if they could fill up a bucket with weeds from the flower beds. We all helped for a little while, but when Hope went down for her nap I came in to do some computer work, and Asher, well, Asher talked more than he pulled. He kept coming up with "amazing ideas" of games and inventions to do and make, instead of pulling weeds. Hannah was a very compliant child, and worked hard and earned her extra dollar! It's fun to see the personality differences between the two of them. Some of them may be in line with the ol' birth order theories as well!
I should stop for a second and tell a couple of little funnies Asher has had in the past week. The other day we were at Target and saw a "He is Risen" Easter card. I said, "He Is Risen!" and Asher asked, "What does that mean?" They have been studying the Easter story at school, and we've been talking about it at home some as well, but I guess he had never heard that specific phrase. I replied "Jesus rose from the dead, He didn't stay buried. " Hannah pipes up "I want to be buried." Before I had a chance to respond to her Asher said "I want to go up in flames!"
After laughing and sending Jayme a quick text, I found out that when a family friend had passed away recently (while I was in GA) there was some discussion about death- how our spirits go to heaven but not our bodies. Asher being Asher needed to know what happens to our bodies, so Jayme told him in as few words as possible. :) Hannah, though, wants a more civilized way out lol.
Today when we arrived home from school, Asher says, out of nowhere, "Mom, were there girls in the old times?" I told him there were indeed. "Even before you were born?" Yep! "Well, the boys were the stars." Where do they get this stuff from???? Love how the mind of a 5 year old works!
Anyways! Back to our weekends....after the good yardwork everyone did that Saturday, I convinced Jayme that we should go spend a few hours at Sea World the next day, so we did. It was pretty quiet there, despite it being prime Spring Break season, and we enjoyed the kid rides and some shows before heading home at about 6pm. It was nice to spend the day together, and fun to watch Hope as she becomes more aware of songs and animals. She LOVES music and dances to it whenever she hears is, even if it's just me singing!
The gangs all back in their dress up costumes!
Later in the day Jayme took all three kids to his office just for fun, and they got smoothies on the way. This little one liked hers I do believe!! :)
Working in the yard...
He didn't pull many weeds (which I promise won't be the case when he's a bit older), but he is sweet to his mama and brings me flowers all the time- some from school, some from our yard, and usually one from the baseball field from during his game or practice <3.
Sea World fun!
Our Little Loves
Hannah, Asher and Jayme went on this ride- I stayed with Hope, and laughed so hard at her screaming "DADA DADA DADA!!" Like the ride was going to hurt him or keep him!!!
Asher and I explore the ship while Jayme and Hannah went on the Shamu roller coaster...
As always the bigs each got to choose an arcade game to play. They were both successful and came home with ANOTHER stuffed animal- ahhhh to be 5 and 4!
It was a fun family day!
