Yesterday we were reading a new counting book he got for Christmas from Grama H. and I was counting with him while we pointed to the items on the page. He said "Good counting Mommy." Guess we encourage him a lot haha!

One day a couple weeks ago, after changing his diaper he said "Thas much better, Fank you Mommy." I laughed so hard! I keep telling him he can go in the big boy potty any time he wants but he likes to say "no, no big boy potty."

While at Grama and Papa Wiggins' house a couple of weeks ago I was laying down with him so he would go to sleep. He had been rolling around and talking for a long time ("Mickey....Minnie's Bow Show...snow...reindeer..santa santa ho ho ho....diamond shape" (art on the wall)...) you get the idea- he can be VERY chatty! So I pretended to just be asleep thinking it would encourage him to stop talking. Then I hear "Mommy, are you awake?" I ignored him, but he got thisclose to my face and said "Mommy, are you otay?" So I busted out laughing and had to talk to him. So nice of him to be concerned for me! One of the perks of sleeping next to my little man.

We went to ZooLights at the Jax Zoo last Sunday night. Basically the zoo puts up Christmas lights everywhere, some in the shape of animals and some just outlining all of the exhibits. It was fun and nice to be together as a family. Asher rode the giraffe on the merry go round, and seemed to like it, though he did keep his serious face on! We took a peek at the stingrays for the first time, which Asher also liked. We saw big stingrays and little ones too. As we walked around he kept saying "baby stingray?" It's fun to watch his little mouth try really hard to pronounce the words correctly.
The zoo had a fun area where you could make/roast marshmallows, watch a movie, warm weather ice skate and visit Santa as well. They also had a light show of trees in the main courtyard area, choreographed to Christmas music. Asher was a bit nervous at various times throughout the night, but none as much as when he saw the costumed alligator, koala bear and monkey that were walking all around the zoo. He literally shook like a leaf whenever one got close. We avoided them as much as possible, but just before the light show they all showed up to dance! Poor kid just shook and shook and cried. He said "no bear no bear" "monkey bye bye." You get the idea. I took him to get ice cream and tried to explain to him that they are only people in costume, the costumes are just pretend. So for the next few days after we were at the zoo he'd say "no bear- only costume" over and over and over, as if processing the whole incident!
He really liked the trains they had at the zoo, and talked about them as well "reindeer....school bus..."
| One of Asher's favorite animals "mingos" |
He loved the trains, especially the school bus train. The guy who was controlling it kept stopping it in front of Asher so we could get a good look at it!
Scared of all costumed animals face ;(
Today when we got home from Sea World and bathed the kids, I finished Asher up while Jayme put Hannah in her PJ's. Asher was quite hyper and went bounding out the bathroom door. Just before he got out of sight he stopped, turned and said "fank you mommy!" Too funny!!
