Oh What a Day!

Today was full of ups and downs!  Mostly ups but quite a hilarious 30 minutes surrounding dinner and bath time this evening, before Jayme got home!
This morning when I dropped Asher off at school his teacher took him from me and was holding him.  He put his head down on her shoulder for some snuggles, and she commented on how today and Tuesday are the first times he's ever done that to her!  Sweet boy.
When I picked him up from school his teachers told me he was the only one who got to help do the weather portion of circle time because he was the only one listening!  Also, he was the only one sitting when he was supposed to, and sitting criss cross applesauce at that (a new skill they are learning)!  So proud of our little guy- happy for a good day because he had regressed a  bit and has been very sad at drop off the last couple of weeks.
After a short nap this afternoon, Asher and I went outside to play while Hannah took her nap.  We kicked the soccer ball around (though he likes to call it both a basketball and a super bouncy ball, from a Mickey Mouse Clubhouse episode), played hide and seek and in the sand table as well.  All good things!
Then after Hannah got up they were hungry!  I had made chicken breasts in the crock pot to use with our white bean chicken chili tonight.  I thought "oh I'll just give them some shredded chicken and carrots for dinner!"  Genius I tell ya.  HAHA they had other plans and neither one of them ate much, though I got them to eat a little bit by dipping everything in Ranch (including Hannah, who is somewhat of a small bottomless pit these days when it comes to eating).  I thought it was really good, but I was outvoted.  All this trouble, for nothing...but that wasn't really a big deal, just a bit annoying.
Then I thought it would be a good idea to bathe the kids so they could just focus on playing with Jayme when he got home.  So off we went to the bathroom.  I turned on the water and took Hannah with me to go grab diapers and jammies.  Well I am about one step into Hannah's room when I hear the bathroom door slam and the toilet lid go up.  "Oh crap" I think and race back to the bathroom (which is all of 2 feet away from their bedrooms), to see Asher leaning over the toilet (clean thankfully), splashing in the toilet water!!!!  Good Lordy!  I managed to wrangle him into the tub (after changing both kid's dirty diapers) and washed him down.  Then I put Hannah in the tub, and for some unknown reason she flipped out and kept trying to stand up and crawl out every time I'd loosen my grip on her.  Next Asher decided it would be fun to test me by throwing water inside the tub but about half of it would land outside, on me.  So out of the tub he came, only to squat down and pee on the tile as soon as he got out.  By this point Hannah had recovered and was happily emptying out any drawer and cabinet she could get into because I was busy dealing with Asher.  I am laughing as I write this but I was in some disbelief!
I got diapers on both, threw them (nicely) out of the bathroom, shut the door and cleaned up everything, all the while they were banging on the bathroom door....
Oh the fun of having two toddlers in the house!  They are lucky they are so cute !!!:)  I think I'll keep them, but just had to share the silliness!!!  Happy Friday to all!
