Last Week

I am just going to do a quick synopsis of last week, though we did have a good week and got to see family, which is always awesome!  On Monday we had a chill day- we took Hannah to her swim lesson and then went to a nearby playground that also has a short walking trail on it.  The kids did great on our little nature hike, and Hannah even walked almost the whole time!  We were looking for bunnies, which we did not see, but Asher found a "magic" stick and did some tricks for us while we were walking.

 On Tuesday evening we had the pleasure of meeting family for dinner in Palm Coast.  Andrew was in Ponce Inlet with his girlfriend and her family for the week, so we were really happy when they reached out to see us!  So fun- it was really great to hug everyone and spend an hour with them.

This was Asher getting a rare treasure box treat on Tuesday morning because he slept all night Monday night without getting up!!  Happened twice this week..

Wednesday morning was Hannah's last swim lesson- woohoo!!!  Also a rough morning because Asher was up at 430am for the day and I had my first root canal- ugh!  Happy she is done though and we enjoyed swimming in the pool this weekend with our little fish!

Friday brought another haircut for Asher- he did great!  Now that he knows what to expect he doesn't mind it, and LOVES playing with the play grill they have next to the kitchen.  He also quite enjoys his lollipop treat that the salon gives out! Hannah enjoyed all the toys as well, and I do have to give them both credit for leaving without a fuss- something I always worry about!

This past weekend was really great too!  As mentioned above, we went to the pool twice, and I have to say we are so proud of both kids!  Hannah doesn't hesitate to go to her float as soon as she needs it, and she is also becoming a stronger swimmer in general the more reps she gets with her short swims to the wall.  Asher's confidence has grown by leaps and bounds and he is even swimming from one wall to another (very short distance) and decided it would be fun to jump into the water from the top of the ladder!  I was really impressed- thought it would take him all summer to work up to that!  There are two videos below of him doing it two different ways.  In a third video that's not below I was encouraging him saying "you got it Asher, you're perfect, the wall is right there!"  His response?  "I am perfect!"
 I got away for a bit on Saturday afternoon to get my hair done and went to Target alone (woohoo).  Asher napped twice, thanks to Jayme who was able to get him down quickly both days and he slept for about 1.5 hours each day.  However, it was on the earlier side (asleep at 1225pm) so he went to sleep for the night at 9pm instead of the usual 10pm :(.  He's at a weird stage- too late of a nap (even if it's short) and he's up forever.  With no nap he's cranky and wakes up a lot at night.  Kind of a no win situation but...thanks Jayme!!  You have yourself a new job haha.
