18 Month Checkup

Last week was Hannah's 18 month checkup, and it was a great one!  Dr. Silberman says she is "perfect" and doing great in all areas.  She didn't have to get any shots which was nice, and we didn't really have any questions to ask him, as we think she is progressing nicely.  She has yet to talk a lot, but definitely is able to communicate her needs, desires and opinions!
Hannah is wearing size 18 month clothes and just today I switched her to size 4 diapers, which I think are still too big, but..she naps once a day, anywhere from 1.5 hours up to 3 hours, and usually around 12 hours at night.  She generally goes down super easy for sleep, but as of late has been giving us some trouble, pointing emphatically at the door when we stand in front of her crib!  I just recently was reminded about the "18 month sleep regression" in which little ones start waking up at night, which she has done some this week and last week.  All to be expected, and she really has been such an easy going baby in the sleep department that it's not too big of  deal yet.
She LOVES her big brother, and is always following him around, imitating him, for better or worse!  She loves to be involved in the potty process, and claps enthusiastically for Asher after he goes potty!  She also enjoys getting a jellybean when he does for a reward!  Let me rephrase that- she demands one!
She likes playing with cars, baby dolls, reading books (more now than she ever has, though still not a ton), eating, stealing her brother's water cup, getting into and knocking down anything Asher is playing with and she is OBSESSED with Bubble Guppies!  She really has had no interest in TV until about a month or 6 weeks ago.  And, much like Asher at the beginning, it is Bubble Guppies or nothing.  She could care less about any other show, but when she sees Bubble come on she gets all squealy and excited "BUH BUH!!!"  It's very cute.  She likes it so much that the other night when Jayme tried to put her down for bed she gave him a really hard time because that is what Jayme put on for Asher to watch while he laid her down!!!  She was offended it wasn't for her!
Hannah weighs 23lbs 3 oz and is about 32 inches long.  The nurse was very generous with the measurement yesterday, but she is long and lean, much like her brother.
Her favorite words are (that I can remember at the moment):
car
A-ya (Asher)
Mama
Dada
Buh Buh (Bubble Guppies and bubbles)
gah gah (some how this is "wash" like when we wash hands)
ma (milk)
bye bye (waves while saying it)
ba (paci)
owl (just added this one a couple of nights ago)
ma (milk and more)
ball

There's a few more but I can't remember at the moment!  She makes animal sounds too: monkey, tiger, lion, dog and cat!  Super cute! :)

She is also doing a lot of repeating these days, which is great, and so very easily understands what you tell her and ask her.  The other night I was getting ready to go to my exercise class when I was trying to ask her if she wanted to nurse.  I finally said "Hannah look at Mommy."  She got very serious, turned around and looked me square in the eye.  I said "Mommy is going bye bye, do you want to nurse before I go?"  She immediately shook her head no and wanted down to go play!  She told me!  Completely understood what I was asking.
Friday at the zoo we were on the train and she was still in the stroller, but protesting loudly.  I tried giving her my phone, several different snacks and her water before asking if she wanted to sit on my lap.  She shook her head no, and I told her she had to be in the stroller then.  She shook her head again and I kept saying "Do you want to get out?" She nodded yes!  I said her choices were her stroller or my lap, to which she shook her head no.  Finally I figured out she wanted to sit like a big girl on the train bench, between Asher and myself.  She sat perfectly the whole ride!
Hannah loves digging through and emptying the diaper bag, carrying "purses" around, playing in the pantry and getting out many snacks while she is in there.  She loves chicken, avocado, fruit pouches, crackers, CHEESE, meatballs, most veggies, apples, watermelon, strawberries, sometimes blueberries, cantaloupe (some days),
She's such a little love bug- she gives kisses and hugs often, and loves to be chased around the house and tickled.  She giggles often at herself or Asher, which is such a joy to hear.
Hannah is pretty social, and loves waving to anyone or any animal that she sees, and enjoys growling at animals as well!
We are so blessed with two healthy little kids.  Here's a few pics from the doctors office yesterday, and one from a quick birthday party we went to last night, for their friend Parker.
