Easter Parade at School

On Thursday at school Asher had his Easter parade and party!  This week is Easter break (very necessary for 3 year olds to have a break from school :P).  Each child had to make a hat or bonnet to wear in the parade.  I was supposed to go pick up supplies two weeks ago, but I completely forgot (we do pickup and dropoff in a car pool line so I really don't even go in to the building, that's my excuse and I'm stickin' to it).  Thankfully Asher's teacher saved me and sent home the supplies on Tuesday.
Wednesday afternoon while Hannah was napping we spent about 40 minutes hot gluing various items on his hat.  His favorite part was the dice (which he calls ice cubes) and was so sweet to pick ONLY yellow beads because "Hannah loves yellow."  He got more excited than I thought he would, and even wanted to wear it around the house when we were done.

We had no idea if he would wear it the next day, or even walk in the parade, but he did really like his hat.
Come Thursday morning when we arrived at the playground to watch the parade, we were so excited to see him not only wearing his hat, but smiling and happily walking along with his classmates!  He waved at us and came over for a quick hug, but got back in line and kept walking around and around the playground!  THANKFULLY he did not see the costumed Easter bunny that started off the parade, as it would have been a done deal!  He didn't see her until his class was exiting the playground..as he caught sight of the bunny he started walking a lot slower and then his little face just crumpled as he looked around for us!  Thankfully I got to him just as this was happening, and stood between him and the bunny on the way to his classroom!  He was pretty clingy after that, but did well when the bunny came to visit the classroom.  We were in the back of the room eating lunch, and the bunny stayed in the front of the room.  Whew crisis averted!  Overall it was a great experience, and he had a blast during their quick egg hunt as well... Daddy was able to steal away from work, which was really special.  He took Asher outside for the hunt while I let Hannah eat!  When he came back in he kept saying "I really love that egg hunt."  He will have a blast this week, as I think we will have 3 more to go to before all is said and done!  Here's a video and some pics of the parade and party.

 Face after seeing the bunny!
