While our kids are a bit young to really grasp this concept, Asher is starting to understand the "real" story of Easter, along with Easter bunny fun. We have an Easter Berenstain Bears book and a random kids Easter book I picked up at Home Goods a few months ago that help explain things pretty well. Asher came out of nursery yesterday saying "He is Risen!" So we are on the right track!
We were up nice and early, in time to go to the 8:30am service at church. I figured it would be less crowded in the nursery for the kids, and we could get a meal in before nap time this way! It worked out well, and though there were a few tears on the way in to nursery, they were all smiles on the way out! That's always a praise for this mommy! When I dressed Asher in his shirt and vest he said "Wow that's a lot of shirts!" Haha!
A big perk of our day was that Aunt Abby joined us for church, brunch and our egg hunt before she headed back to her apartment. It's really great, but still so weird to have family that lives in town! She was even at church before the service started- goooo Abby! I was super impressed!
We went to a fancy-ish restaurant for brunch called Moxie. It's at the Town Center, and it was their first year doing an Easter buffet. They have some kinks to work out for sure! The waiters didn't seem to be well briefed on what their "job" was in it all, and some of them looked very uncomfortable with lots of people all over the place all the time! It was yummy food, but probably overpriced! Our waitress was very sweet, and we enjoyed the time together.
Before church and waiting to be seated at Moxie
When we got home I ran out to the backyard to set up the kids Easter bags and hunt. They were so excited about the eggs they ran right past their gift bags! After a quick hunt and bag opening, Hannah went off to nap, Asher went to quiet time and Jayme and I managed to get a short nap in too- win win! We played the rest of the afternoon, and had a normal dinner, before putting the kids to bed. A great day celebrating our risen Savior!
Asher wanted to know "Why did the Easter bunny put the blue egg and the purple egg up in the tree? I can't reach them?!"
He really loves this drill!

A very funny and random side note: Auntie Ann and I picked out Asher and Hannah's Easter outfits (they were a gift from her and Uncle Duane) at the St. Augustine Outlets. A couple of weeks ago, Amanda picked out her kids Easter outfits at the Orlando Outlets....and all the girls ended up with the same dress, completely coincidentally!!! Pretty funny!
I also wanted to show Hannah's nails- she was pretty excited when I painted them on Saturday morning. We have a few colors of this special polish called Piggy Paint (it's nontoxic), and she immediately picked the "parkle one" aka the sparkle one! She kept looking at her nails the whole day and saying "Pretty nails, Mommy do." Although I have to say she originally wanted Daddy to paint them. I got mine done on Friday and she was looking at them. I told her I could paint hers too and she kept insisting "No Mommy do, Daddy do." Thankfully she relented and I got to do them but it was funny!
