We went to Brucci's for dinner, and the kids were in bed at a decent time- woohoo! I snuck off for a movie with Abby, while Jayme manned the house. :)
Yesterday we played hooky from church and went to the zoo. It was a GORGEOUS day outside- cool but sunny! After a quick breakfast at Dunkin' Donuts we headed north.
There is a new dino exhibit at the zoo, and we got there early to beat the crowds. We hit up the train first, because that also gets crowded, and it's one of Asher and Hannah's favorite things to do. We rode the train the whole way around, and then headed in to the dino exhibit. Well, I gotta say, I really didn't expect the dinosaurs to look quite so real! They were done with animatronics (sp?) and were set along a dirt path in a wooded area, complete with real sounds and some that even squirted water at us! Needless to say, we won't be going back this year haha, as neither kid smiled the whole time. :) They didn't cry, but they dinos were very life like! I took a couple of videos so you can experience them too!
This sums up their faces the whole time! Daddy held Asher as he covered his ears during the big noises, and Hannah just looked concerned! Asher said later "I only like the quiet ones!"
Videos- notice that even some of the babies move in the first one!
After the dinosaurs we moved on to the normal stuff, and thanks to Daddy being with us, we covered a lot of ground! We went to see Asher's favorite, the giant otters, saw some of Hannah's favorites (turtles), and even made it into the kid area to brush the pygmy goats and see the penguins. We also ran into the Long's and had a little chat! Always fun:).
I think Hannah's hands are permanently attached to her hips these days!
Our little girl just loves sweets! Leftover donuts!
After we got home, Jayme tried to get Asher to nap, then hung out with him while Hannah and I napped! It was heavenly! Thanks babe! A great family day! :)
