Finding Dory

It was a long weekend here in the Wiggins house!  We have just finished day 2 of 3 day potty training with Hannah Banana!  It has actually gone pretty well, slow but steady progress.  That is my next post after tomorrow, but today I got to have a date with my little man!  Jayme bravely took potty training into his own hands and I was able to sneak off for a couple of hours with Asher.
I had been wanting to take Asher to his first movie for some time.  I thought about the Snoopy Movie back around Christmas, but it just didn't shake out.  So off we went today to Finding Dory.  I thought for sure he'd take one look at the huge screen, loud speakers and want to bolt!  I was wrong and SO happy I was!
I told him we could get a snack, which was very exciting to him haha.  'I like blue and red candy' and he also requested popcorn.  I told him we could get some candy and we also would share a root beer.  The concession stand was a short line that took a long time.  We spent about 15 minutes in line and during that time the couple in front of us overheard our conversation.  The woman turned around and asked Asher how old her was etc, and he was more than happy to chat away with her, telling her what movie  we were seeing and that he was getting candy.  She asked him what kind he liked and then proceeded to buy it for him!  They were a sweet couple and he seemed to give them a smile!
We arrived in the theater during the preview just before the movie started- it was perfect timing!  I had heard from friends there was 20 minutes of previews and they weren't all age appropriate.  Asher balked at the entrance saying he didn't like this place or how loud it was.  I told him he could sit in my lap but that we were going in.  Once he picked out seat and got comfy he settled in and was happy.  He sat in his seat the whole movie and really liked it!  He requested the Skittles and popcorn and root beer on a rotation.  He said things like ' I love popcorn!' and 'I love it, I love vis movie.'  He laughed at some parts and awww'd when he saw baby Dory and when the otters hugged each other and had 'cuddle time.'  He asked some questions but I had told him before we went in he'd have to ask me quietly, and he did great.
I was so happy it was a good experience for him!!  Lots of fun with our sweet boy.  Can't wait for the next time! We made a quick stop at Publix on the way home and then had a dinner for breakfast!

This face cracks me up-trying very hard to be compliant:).
