Jayme's 36th!!

We had a really fun day Saturday celebrating our fave man- Jayme!  The kids are finally 'getting' that birthdays are really fun and spent the day telling Daddy 'Happy Birthday Daddy!' About every hour. It was really sweet.  They also cannot keep a secret haha- we ordered Jayme a cake on Friday afternoon and the first thing they said to him when he walked int the door was 'we got you a cake Daddy!!'  Silly kids.

We sent Jayme paddle boarding yesterday morning for a couple of hours, as he has not been in about a year, poor guy!  We picked up balloons and the aforementioned cake while he was out.  The kids thought it was super fun and enjoyed watching the balloons be blown up at the party store.  Simple pleasures entertain them!  They picked Curious George, Jake and the Neverland Pirates and Happy Birthday balloons.  

We had a normal afternoon with Hannah napping, though Jayme and I managed to sneak a nap in on the couch as well, thanks to the good ol iPad keeping Asher busy! We gave Jayme his gifts after he woke up and then went to a new restaurant in town called Safe Harbor.  It's a fresh seafood joint on the water, and in theory it's really cool.  However for some reason it caused us some anxiety haha.  There's minimal parking, I accidentally had the keys in the diaper bag so the valet couldn't drive our car, and then we waited in line at the counter to order our food for about 20 minutes.  Wouldn't be a big deal except Hannah was saying she had to go potty every 5 minutes.  I think it would be a great place to go on a date when we aren't clock watching because of the kiddos!!  

Then we took a quick trip to Wal Mart to stock the kids' treasure boxes, which they thought was great.  We got a kick out of them walking through the aisles yelling 'let's buy this!  Me want dis!'  However they moved on quickly when we instructed them to do so.  

We enjoyed the cake when we arrived back home and then proceeded with the usual bedtime routine. It was just a really happy day, happy weekend really, enjoying time together as a family.  We love Daddy and are so blessed by him!  I think Asher said it best while we were eating cake- 'It's a perfect day!  I love all you guys.  I love everybody.'  ♥️

I'll do a small addendum here about my bday- it was a really rough day with the kids (Hannah pottying in particular), but we did get to have lunch with Jayme and Abby and Mike were here to hang out as well. :)
