Tennessee Trip Part Two

The kids were up bright and early Saturday morning, but we managed to keep them mostly quiet until about 8am!  Then we got to get up and see Nonna and Grandpa and wish Nonna a Happy Birthday!  We spent the morning playing, and had an extra special treat: we got to listen to Grandpa's gift to Nonna for her birthday.  It is a CD of songs that he picked and recorded in a studio, especially for her!  Hannah got to dance with Grandpa for one of the songs, which was very sweet!

After the gift giving we headed out to the pool, and boy were we entertained!  Grandpa put on a great show for the kids- and it was exactly like I remember from when I was a kid!  Lots of silliness jumping into the pool, pretending to be various objects.  Grandpa was everything from a super sonic jet to a bumblebee, to a helicopter and who can forget the tin man impression?!  We had water fights with the super awesome water squirters, and I believe the girls came out the victors!  Just sayin'!

We had a quiet afternoon, and then the kids got a kick out of watching Grandpa mow the lawn on his big tractor.  Asher again spent time on the mini tractor, and he reminded me of a little old man the way he was sitting on it!  His favorite part of the whole thing was the FM radio that really worked!  Nonna made a delicious spaghetti dinner for her bday dinner and we enjoyed some TV after the kids went to bed!  Great way to spend a Sunday!

Smiles with Grandpa and puppet making before bedtime

Fun game Hannah was playing with Grandpa- first he pretended he was sleeping and she woke him up with tickling, then they both would "sleep" and I'd have the honor of waking them up :)

Monday brought more fun with Aiden and the kids got to meet Aunt Cara as well!  We spent time in the pool, and then went to the Loveless Cafe for dinner, along with stopping by one of Dad's stores on the way.
Fort Making in the morning, and some bubble fun (we promised Hannah the night before we'd do bubbles on Monday, and it's the first thing she said when she woke up!  "Me do bubbles!"

Pool Time!  Sweet Aiden decided to jump into the water, but didn't start from the very edge, which resulted in this cute tushie bump on his way down!

I thought this was pretty smart of Asher- he'd load up all the squirters in a row, then he was locked and loaded to take down everyone!

Kids cheering on Aiden ...you can do it!

Afternoon Fun, and pictures before dinner (stupid sun messed two of them up!)

Dinner!

We had a great visit- thanks for being such wonderful hosts!  The kids are still talking about the visit, including Asher saying "I really like all of Grandpa's water tricks.  I want a diving board" and also telling me that he wants to go back tomorrow.  I explained it's a very long drive and he replied "It's ok Mommy, we can do it!"  Haha love this little guy!  Until next time.... :)
