JumpStreet

I wrote this a few days ago, on Thursday!

We have a new kid place in town called Jump Street.  I have had a few friends tell me it's awesome, but we had yet to check it out.  I'm a bit against germy places, but with Hannah's crankiness since we took her paci, we needed to get out of the house and do something fun.  I was pleased to see/feel like it's well maintained!
One of the awesome things about Jump Street is it's very close to our house!  A quick 10 minute drive and we are there.  The other place we have been to is about 20-25 mintues away, and they only have Toddler Time on Monday and Tuesdays, when Duval County is in session.  I am grateful for that, but Jump Street is open at 10am everyday, and they have a really great area for kids 7 and under.  There are trampolines, a set of inflatable slides and an inflatable maze for them to bounce between.  I can see all 3 areas at once, so it's no big deal if they want to do separate things.  I held Hope on Tuesday when we went for the first time, and today when we returned I wore her in the ErgoBaby carrier, and she took a short nap!
The "big kids" are growing up!  I thought they'd have a big warm up period and be clingy and I'd have to push them to play, but after I showed them each area and they watched a kid or two go through everything, they were off!  I am so proud of them!  Asher even wanted to go on some of the other areas of the gym (he can go to them since he is 4, provided he is with someone 12 or older), but we stuck with the "little kids" area, as Hannah has to be there.  It's really great- I'm sure we will be there often!  Hannah doesn't like the maze area, but I'm thinking once I can walk with her through it she may be ok.  I can't crawl on my hands and knees through it with Hope just yet though!  I can walk through most of it but there's a part where I couldn't and I had to go back!
Today when we went back, unprompted, Asher stopped bouncing and came over to me and said "Mommy thank you for taking us to Jump Street."  Which is great, considering some of the attitude we've been seeing recently.  He was very sweet with the little kids running around (he was definitely one of the older kids there - a very weird feeling!)  He kept looking out for this little one year old and returning a bouncy ball to him when he'd drop it.  Makes me think "we are getting through to him!"
Little kids are funny- when we were there on Tuesday Asher saw a snack machine and started getting fussy for something in it.  He did not get his way, but had been asking since then.  We talked about how it cost money to go bounce, and we brought our own snacks and didn't need to spend more money on something we already had in the diaper bag.  Tuesday afternoon he said "Mommy can you spend your money on 3 things at the jump place? One is bouncing, two is a tshirt for me, and three is a snack.  Would that be ok?"  So today when we arrived I let them split a Gatorade (they didn't have water in the vending machine isn't that nuts?) and you would have thought I gave him a gold bar.  Their little smiles were so big.  It's the little things....Today was a good good day!  After quiet time we went on a walk and I watched them just be two little peas in a pod, picking up sticks and berries.  They played really nicely together outside when we got home as well.  I needed a good day!  Enjoy the pictures from Tuesday and today.  I included a couple videos too!
