We've been working a lot with Asher on the Golden Rule: treat others as you would like to be treated. He is pretty smart, and this leads him to question his parents a lot, instead of saying "yes ma'am and yes sir." He also has his father's sense of humor, and tries to be funny, although at times it comes out rude or at the expense of his sister. We are all a work in progress! For example, one day I was eating my breakfast in the car, and he asked me a question 800 times in a row, to which I held up my hand like "just a minute" because my mouth was full. He persisted, and I said "Buddy, this means wait. I don't want to talk to you with food in my mouth." His response? "Well, Mommy, you are talking with your mouth full right now." Um excuse me?!
His class did a couple of weeks on kindness as well, and he really got into it. They had a kindness wreath at school, and his teacher added berries to the wreath as she "caught" the kids doing good things. Asher helped his class get several berries , and asked if we could have a wreath at home (Drawn on the chalkboard). Of course we said yes, and they are working on filling up the wreath.
On this particular day outside, he decided not to ride his bike so he could push Hope in her car. He also picked up acorns for Hannah, because he knows she loves them. We are seeing improvements! Check out the videos as well.
