Bay and Bee

This morning we tried out something new!  A "modern indoor play space" called Bay and Bee (if you say it fast it comes out sounding like "baby").  It's also pretty "earthy"- there are no electronic toys- everything is wooden and organic- which isn't a requirement for me, it just happens to be so.
It was started a few months ago here in Jax by two mommies that wanted a place for kids (including their own) to go and just hang out, and along the way moms can meet other moms.  It is pretty neat.  It's one huge room with a climbing structure in the middle and different activities around the perimeter of the room.  It's open daily and you can just come when you want.  These moms had done the gym classes and various other activities with their older children and while they are great, they often missed class due to kids napping.  This is something that happens to us sometimes- we end up missing and letting Asher sleep in, or we wake him up and feel badly!
Bay and Bee is geared towards kids 0-5 years old, and although older kids are welcome, they have to be mindful of the littler people.  Today's visit was free, and then if we go again we will pay a monthly fee.  I think this is also nice, because unlike My Gym, which has a contract, at Bay and Bee we can pick and choose months to participate.  I also like it because I can take both kids- there's plenty of stuff for Hannah too!  There are also classes that go on during the week, as well as story times, which are all included in the monthly fee.
So today when we walked in Asher took off- like he knew it was a place for him- very cute.  He liked the train table, the kitchen area, the dress up area, the slide and the magnetic board.  Hannah got comfy on a Boppy lounger, which was fun for her for a little while.
You would think it would be chaotic, but oddly enough it was not!  The kids moved from one area to another while their moms talked with other moms or played with them.  Asher did well trying to share.  There were two instances where he wanted a toy another child had (one was a toy he had just put down) and instead of grabbing it from the kid, he stood and said "peas" about 1000 times.  I was proud of him and sad for him!  He didn't understand why when he asked nicely he wasn't getting it!
I have to do a little more research before deciding on if we will join, but so far it seems like a fun place!

Play Kitchen- Asher learned to fill up his cup here and pretend to drink it!

Slide!  I figured out (after a few times down) that he likes going on his belly- head up...he kept doing it on his own- it was cute

Hannah just chillin'

You know he likes hats!  Firefighter Asher!

After playing for an hour we picked Jayme up at his office and went to lunch!  What a fun morning! :)  Happy Weekend!
