Play Day!

Yesterday was a fun day with almost no down time at all.  I was exhausted at the end of it, but had so much fun!  The day started with Hannah waking at 8am and Asher sleeping in until 8:50am!  I was just starting to wonder if he was sick when he woke up happy.  I knew it would take some doing to get him down for a nap, so we headed to Bay & Bee to see if that would wear him out!  We had a good time. Asher ran all over and Hannah sat very sweetly playing with whatever toys I put in front of her.  Asher had a bit of a challenge with a little boy who followed him around taking toys whenever he felt like it.  His nanny tried hard to get him to cooperate and return toys, but it only worked some of the time.  Asher would point and fuss when a toy was taken from him, but never grabbed it back.  I decided to let the other little boy's nanny handle the situation, and just tried to redirect Asher as needed.  He also (bless his heart) has to learn that in a setting like this one he can't leave toys unattended or else they will likely be gone when he gets back!  He loves to move things (namely kitchen toys) from one area to another, but when he goes to get more he sometimes loses the original ones.  Poor kid!  All life lessons I guess! :)  He handled it well until about 12pm, which was my signal that it was time to go.
We went home for lunch and nap, but Asher had other plans for his nap time!  He played so nicely in his crib for over an hour and then I saw this start happening:

Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard.  I sent this video to Jayme and then got Asher up.  Well now what??  It was only 21pm. I decided Jayme could use a smoothie, so I piled the kiddos in the car and we went to visit Daddy at the office.  Yay! :)  That's always fun.  Then we went to the local park so I could be sure Asher had gotten out all of his energy before bedtime.  He managed to find the one reflective surface in the park and started talking to himself, despite the little guy above him who really wanted to play with him!  He did eventually say hi and left the mirror.

We were fortunate enough to run into another mom who lives in our neighborhood!  She was at the playground with her 14 month old son.  I had a good time chatting with her while Asher played.  Hannah sat very nicely in the stroller for quite awhile, but at the end while Asher was playing in the sandbox I got to love on her for a little bit.
It has been a few months since I took the kids to this particular playground, and I am very excited to see how Asher has progressed.  He went down (and up ) the slides on his own, as well as the stairs and "balance beam" areas.  His confidence has grown so much and he just happily played all over the place- it was hard to keep track of him!  So proud of our little guy.

Asher saw the sand and started yelling "Castles, castles!"
