Becoming Buddies

Since Hannah has started walking, I think Asher is starting to see her as a little more of a playmate.  She can do more things like him now, so that makes her more fun!  He watches out for her often, and lets her know the rules of the house when she breaks one!  Take this morning as an example.  She likes to climb on the chaise lounge, and then up on the arm of it:

You can see by the look on his face he knows this is wrong!  He told her "No no Hannah, get down!"  I kept putting her down and she crawled back up about 6-7 times.  She's a nut!  I decided to take the kids to a playground that's very close by, so off we went at about 945am.  I love it because there's usually not anyone else around, so we have the place to ourselves.  It was a good decision- the kids had a blast crawling, climbing, walking, going up and down slides, clapping for each other and generally just having fun.  Asher would go up to the big slide and then say "Mommy come and git you too!"  So Hannah and I would crawl up and go down the slide immediately after him.  She had a lot more fun this time since she is pretty mobile, but I do like that the starting steps are too tall for her to climb up on her own, so I can keep track of her easily.  Asher is able to mostly handle himself now, which is nice.  We had a good morning!

Dumb iPhone didn't focus fast enough!  I often say  "big smiles" when one of the kids likes something that's going on (and they are smiling).  Asher has picked up on this and yesterday kept saying "big smiles!"  This phrase is starting to help us get happy pics too!

Me too!  Me too!

She scales this slide just like the one at Bay & Bee- she puts her feet out to the side and up she goes!

One of my favorite moments- he'd slide down the slide then run over to the sidewalk where he'd jump to see his shadow move, and count along with each jump.  He counts 1-10 perfectly, 11-20 is a bit more jumbled, but he's getting there!

Too tall for her to climb without help!

We have also been spending a lot of time outside on the back porch.  I brought Asher's car out back because he LOVES it, and so does Hannah.  They play together nicely with it, with Asher giving most of the directions, but Hannah being emphatic when she wants something!  He will get in for a few minutes, then get out and say "Ok, Hannah's turn."  He holds the door open for her and then closes it once I get her in.  She gets about 30 seconds then he opens it back up and says "Ok, Asher's turn!"  He even opts to get in with her, though it's not her favorite thing- she gets squished!
The door of his car came off, and he immediately asked for a screwdriver "I need to fix it."  So I got out his little play toolbox set and away he worked- bless his heart.

Drink Break- was a warm day!

My turn bro!

My cuties

More togetherness!

I also had a reminder this week of how they really understand so much, and watch everything we do, despite being so young.  Asher also learns a lot from his TV shows, and hearing all the phrases from the shows being said is funny too!  The other day we were upstairs with my mom, and Asher was playing hide and seek under the bed.  One time he comes out, wipes his brow and says "whew!"  Another of his favorite phrases is "that was a close one!"
The instance I am referring to by my first statement is when Hannah wanted a toy Asher was playing with.  He very sweetly brought her another toy and said "Here Hannah."  This is something I do often!!
Such cuties, and we are so blessed to watch them grow!
