Writing on the Wall

Yesterday we stayed home.  It was really nice to just hang out with the kiddos and play with them and kind of recover from our big day on Sunday!
Asher likes to use wrapping paper rolls as magic wands (he has been very attached to a Bubble Guppies episode that has magic tricks in it), and yesterday he found a roll of bulletin board paper and started using it the same way.  Except it was really big so it needed to find a new home!  So we put it up on the wall in the kitchen, near the play room so the kids could draw on it.  They spent SO much time drawing on it yesterday.  It's fun to see how much more Asher did on it than the last time I put up paper on the wall.  He loves to lay on his belly and write "down here."  He and Daddy had fun last night drawing the members of our family, and tonight he enjoyed being traced (he stood against the wall and Jayme outlined him)!  Hannah even really likes it, and spent quite a bit of time in front of it as well.  Score one for this mommy!  Good clean fun.
At one point Asher thought he saw a bug.  The conversation went something like this:
Asher: Where's the bug?
Me: What bug?  Show Mommy the bug.
Asher: It might be on Hannah.  It might be on the paper..the white paper.

Simple but funny because of how his little voice sounds when he is talking, and how interactive he is becoming- you can kind of hold a conversation with him!  At one point I heard him encouraging Hannah too: "Oh thas nice coloring, Hannah."
Coloring "up here"

 Playing peacefully side by side

A little while later Asher found Jayme finance book he had on the couch.  He picked it up and started "reading" it saying "It's about letters...Once Upon a Time.."  Take a look at the video. Kinda cute.

It was a good morning.  The afternoon was a little more fussy but I enjoyed the togetherness in the a.m.  I did have to say things like "No Asher no piggyback rides on Hannah" which cracked me up but I just love these kiddos!

Last night I got to go out for Ladies Night with 7 other girls!  Dawn won 90 minutes of bowling for up to 12 people at a local fun spot called Latitude 360.  They have bowling lanes, a movie theater, a comedy club and a game room.  It was good quality fun with a great group of ladies!

Oh and I also need to "record" a conversation with Asher from Sunday night when I was putting him to bed.  Jayme had been told this, but I hadn't gotten the accolade yet.
Asher: You're the best!
Me: What??
Asher: You're the best!
Me: No, you're the best Asher
Asher: No, you're the best, Mommy!
I smiled so big just looking down at his little happy face!  I love how little kids say whatever comes into their minds....this was almost as fun as when he said he loved me the first time completely on his own (back in January).
