The Kids

While I was away in Asheville, Jayme and Grama W. held down the fort here in Jax.  I was somewhat of a mess in the week leading up to my Asheville trip.  I had never left Hannah overnight, and was really worried about it because she is still nursing.  This is one of the reasons I only went for one of the three nights (the other girls were there from Thursday-Sunday).  I don't pump well, and didn't have enough milk for her normal 3 feedings a day.  She's definitely not dependent on nursing, but this would be a change from her normal routine!
And then, of course, on Wednesday Hannah came down with a fever.  It started at 102.2 and went up to 103.7 Wednesday night.  To say I was concerned about leaving is an understatement!  Despite them being well taken care of and well loved, it's hard as a mommy to not be there when your child is sick.  The fever continued through the day on Thursday, but thankfully it subsided on Friday.  Unfortunately, Asher came down with a fever yesterday afternoon, but after sleeping in until 1115am this morning (a record), his fever has subsided today too.  Whew!

Fever Wednesday night, though, bless her little heart, she was still going and trying to play, despite the 103.7 degree fever!

So on Friday Grama W. took great care of the littles while Jayme went to work.  He checked in during lunch and was home for dinner, but the kids had a really fun day with Grama.  When I called to Face Time on Friday evening Grama had gone upstairs, but Asher wanted her back down.  He stood at the bottom of the steps and yelled "Grama!"  When she arrived on Thursday afternoon he immediately wanted to go out and help her with her luggage.  I received updates throughout the day about what they were up to, which was really helpful.  Hannah gave Jayme a really hard time about going down to bed on Friday night, but eventually he prevailed and she slept through the night.  Good job Daddy!
On Saturday they went to Chick-fil-a for breakfast before heading to Bay & Bee.  After that they went down for naps and Grama headed home.  Thanks so much for taking such great care of the kids in my absence!
