I guess I should back up and say a huge thank you/Happy Father's Day to my dad and Jayme's dad for raising us into the amazing people we are today- HAHA :). Seriously though, we couldn't get through it without you guys and we love you to pieces! :)
Also, one more shout out to Aunt Abby for hanging out with us- we had a yummy breakfast with her yesterday morning before she left to go on a little adventure of her own. Thanks Aunt Abby! She helped Asher figure out how to arrange his markers which he thought was very cool haha. And as you can see, Hannah was super happy after finishing her meal of eggs and waffle!
Back to the star of the day- Daddy! I really just cannot say enough about him! He works very hard for our family, and gives us the best life has to offer. He always pitches in around the house whenever needed, and I generally don't even have to ask him! He changes diapers, gives baths, does bedtime, and takes Asher with him on the weekends to do errands so I can get a break while Hannah naps. He is an amazing dad and hubby, and we are blessed beyond measure to call him ours! He even drives the minivan hahaha. We definitely have a routine to keeping the household running, and he was sorely missed by me when he was gone twice this month ( though deservedly so)! You are wonderful babe and make our world go round! Love you!
For Father's Day the kids and I just made him some personalized gifts, nothing too fancy. It has become a tradition that we made him a small board book with pictures of him and the kids. This was the first year they are communicating pretty well, and I was able to ask them what they love about Daddy. Neither hesitated when giving me their answers! It was really sweet. I took a couple of pictures of the book to show you all. We also decorated some cards, and bought him two tshirts- one Asher picked out and one I did. The Dadasaurus one Asher was in charge of, and the one with the racecar track on the back I picked out. Who doesn't love getting their back scratched? This way the kids can play with cars and Daddy gets a little massage/back scratch!
Also a tradition, I snuck the kids over to a park in Mandarin so Aunt Dawn could take some pics of the kids with "I love Daddy" signs. We made it through our little session just in time, before the skies opened up with a big storm (the evening before the actual tropical storm came through). Both kids were happy, but Asher wasn't super into sitting still, even with bribes! Dawn did awesome anyways, as usual! Thank you!!!!
After Jayme got home we decided to go to Cheesecake Factory for an early dinner. We had a 20 minute wait, even though we arrived at 445pm, and got seated outside. It was a yummy dinner, but the mac 'n cheese and chicken/cheese quesadilla did not agree with the kids tummies, and it quickly went from celebrating daddy to "Welcome back and right into a stressful parenting situation!" I'll save the details so I don't gross you out, but let's just say Asher's undies got thrown away in the restaurant restroom (not his fault at all), and Hannah's shorts needed a good wash when we got home! There was nothing to do but laugh! Thankfully they both went to sleep easily and Jayme got his wish to watch Game of Thrones while relaxing on the couch!
We love you Jayme/Daddy and are so excited about what the future holds for our family. You are DA BEST!
He's back!
Asher answered all of these immediately, with NO help from me! He was so excited to draw a picture of Daddy as well, and carefully made each body part. He's really growing up! Remember you can click on the pictures from www.jaymeandnicki.blogspot.com to make them bigger so you can see all the answers easily.
