July 4th Holiday- Long Post!

We were blessed to have Aunt Abby and Grandpa here with us on July 3rd and July 4th.  It made the holiday lots of fun!
Abby and Grandpa drove up together on the 3rd, in time for dinner and then a special treat- the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp game!  We personally liked it when their name was the Jacksonville Suns, but nonetheless we had a good time.  This was a super special treat, as the game started at their usual bedtime!  Eek!  However, they all did really well.  We ended up leaving during the 7th inning, mostly because Asher kept hearing the announcement for the fireworks at the end of the show, and he kinda freaked out!  Hannah didn't want to see them either, they both knew fireworks are loud, though they haven't ever heard/seen them in person.  This was fine, as it was late anyhow!
Both kids really enjoyed their special treat of a snow cone, and both of them finished 95% of it!  They were in heaven.
Thankfully it had rained before the game, so it was hot but not unbearable, and the sun was behind the clouds a good amount of the time.  It was a concern, but turned out to not be that bad!

Daddy got off work early, and took the kiddos outside to play- yay!  They drew a road for the fire truck and had fun until the heat became too oppressive!

 Game Time!

It took awhile, but I finally found a quiet spot to nurse Hope, and we changed the kids into jammies before we left, then they conked out on the way home!  Yay!

On the actual 4th, we just took it easy.  Asher asked where we were going that morning, and Grandpa replied "Well we went out late last night, you see, so today we stay home."  We  enjoyed the morning on the porch, and then Abby and I took the big kids to the pool for a little while in the early afternoon.  Jayme cooked us a yummy dinner on the grill, and after some pictures the kids went to bed, and we watched A Capitol 4th on TV while relaxing and listening to Diego go nuts with all the surrounding fireworks!  We are officially "old." Or maybe just in a different life stage, but we have been pretty mad at all the late night fireworks that are incredibly loud- 8pm, 9pm even 10pm ok, but midnight??? Seriously people.....  anyways!! :)  We had a great holiday and were so glad for our company, and being able to live in this country, despite it's many faults!
