I got an Apple watch last week and used it for the first time this past weekend when we were at Sea World. Holy Moly it was a wakeup call for me! I wanted it mostly for the fitness aspect of it, and it made me realize how much I don't move- it took me all day at Sea World to accrue the 10,000 steps everyone strives for, as well as my own personal fitness goal. Actually, it was walking out of Disney Springs at 10pm that it dinged and let me know I had met my goal. I was exhausted, and my legs and back hurt. After a couple of days of "man I am going to have to work harder to be healthy" I stopped feeling sorry for myself and am getting to work being more active. Though I don't usually sit still until about 10pm, my heart rate isn't going up much, apparently (this is how the watch measures activity). Sigh....so yesterday afternoon after my 30 minute workout from Beach body, I made the kids go for a walk with me to the pavilion area and we kicked a soccer ball around for a long while. I discovered Asher really has a knack for soccer! He is pretty aggressive and very competitive. He didn't hesitate to push in front of me to steal the ball. It was pretty interesting. He does love t-ball, but I loved his competitive edge and determination to beat me.
Hannah joined in as well, and did very well, especially for being only 3.5! She would take breaks and go play with Hope, who sat very nicely in her stroller and then on the blanket.
We also had a special delivery/treat from Aunt Dawn- a toy box and several bins of younger kid books. PERFECT for the age of my kids! She was cleaning out Jaxson's room to make it a middle schooler room and wanted rid of them. Yes please! The kids have had a lot of fun today and yesterday afternoon going through the books and asking to be read to.
Mommy can I tell you a secret in your ear? :)
Thank you Aunt Dawn! And being silly with a glasses and red nose set we found in one of the bins :)
