The day after Christmas we took it pretty easy. We went to Chickfila for breakfast, then headed to Lowe's to try and find a way to rig the big shark that Jayme got for Christmas. That afternoon Hannah napped in her room and I in my hammock while a non napping Asher and Daddy went back to Lowe's to find some more goodies. The two of them are quite the pair these days! Long gone are the days of "I want Mommy." We are in a new era, which is great, of Daddy and Asher being buddies. In fact, last night this was the conversation at the table:
Asher: Daddy and Me are a great team, and you and Hannah are a great team.
Me: Are Daddy and Hannah a great team, and Mommy and Asher a great team too?
Asher: Nope, just Me and Daddy and you and Hannah
He was also sad that Jayme had to go back to work, saying "We're a family, I don't want you to go back to work!" He's a perceptive little guy, and heard Jayme talking about gearing up for today.
Love it! They also mysteriously come back with Icees every time they are out together, so now Asher asks for them when it's just he and Mommy, and he doesn't get the same result!
Back to December 26th. After the naps we decided to give them the fire truck. Jayme set it out front and we brought the kids around from where they were playing in the back yard. Asher saw it and started running fast. "A fire truck!" He was very excited, and jumped on it and started trying to figure it out as fast as he could. Hannah was happy to jump on the back seat, though she has since gotten more brave and has driven it a bit as well! Love these two! Our two little peas in a pod!
