Weekend in Philly

What a whirlwind weekend!  On Friday Jayme and I left for a 3 day, 2 night trip to Philadelphia to celebrate our friend Rachael getting married!  She is one of the girls in the group of 7 from college.  We all met by being in Alpha Chi Omega, many years ago!  We have all managed to make it to each other's weddings, with the exception of one girl who had a baby the day before one of the weddings, and one this time, for personal reasons.  It was really great to catch up with everyone, and was long enough for us to really miss our kiddos by the time we got back!
They were in great hands, though, with Grama H. and Aunt Abby.  Grama arrived Thursday afternoon, and we left Friday morning.  Asher and Hannah did very well.  Hannah did seem to miss us, and asked for us, while occasionally acting sad/getting teary.  After a few extra hugs, she'd go on her way.  Asher did great and kept to his normal sleep schedule, but did give a bit of attitude on Sunday (Grama says it was just tiredness :)), before we got home Sunday evening!  One example is when Grama told him he could feed himself his food.  We usually help him along, just to make dinner time over faster!  He told her "well, my family feeds me."  Hilarious!  I also got a call on Friday afternoon, asking where we kept the envelopes because he wanted to send a letter to Grama (even though she was with him!).  He told her he HAD to call Mommy because Mommy knows where they are.  It was great to hear his little voice.
Both of our flights were on time, which was great, and I managed to survive them, despite being completely nervous about them.  Usually I take meds to help me relax, as I HATE flying, but being pregnant, Xanex was not an option.  I almost had a panic attack on the way onto the plane Friday morning, but Jayme helped me calm down, and I did fine!  I usually pray for a safe, smooth flight, but my new prayer is for God to simply completely eliminate my fear of flying.  Enough about that!
After checking into our hotel (Lovebug was able to help us secure our room, despite being before official check in time :)), we wandered around Philly for a bit.  We made a quick stop at the Liberty Bell before heading over to Reading Terminal Market.  That's a cool place- lots of booths set up in a big building with local produce, baked goods, restaurants and some yummy desserts!

Welcome to Jax Gibby!

Shout out to Lancaster!

Asher's Chocolates!

Important buildings :P  maybe the Capitol Building or City Hall?? Also my studly hubby! :)

Friday evening brought the awesomely casual rehearsal dinner at a favorite pizza joint of the bride and groom, called Pizza Brain!  There was some delicious pizza consumed, along with some great conversation and catching up with everyone!

The one from the group who wasn't there asked for some pics- Rachael posed with Jayme and Bill, but that wasn't what Tara meant lol so we rectified the situation with the next picture :)

Saturday was the wedding day, and despite the rain that plagued Philly all.day.long, Rachael (the bride) had a great attitude about it, and managed to have a super day.  We (the college group) took her, her mom, bridesmaids and grandma's to brunch at an awesome place close to our hotel (which was in a great central location), and while she and her bridesmaids went to get ready for the wedding, a few of us went to Lucky Strikes to do some bowling!  I did horribly, and Jayme didn't do as well as he usually does!  However, it was fun to hang out and do something a bit different!

Katie bought her some flowers :) Rachael opening her gift from the group :)

The wedding ceremony took place at 615pm, and we utilized Uber to take us there.  This weekend was our first time using this service, and I am a fan!  There was always someone around to pick us up within a few minutes, and there's no messing with payment of any kind- it's just charged to the credit card on file.  Super fab!
The wedding and reception was held at Greensgrow Farms, which is a plant nursery with a greenhouse- a very unique location, but very pretty!!  It poured the whole time, but they put the reception inside the greenhouse and it was really very beautiful.  It held the 35 guests perfectly!
Sunday morning we checked out of the hotel, went to brunch (sat outside on the sidewalk looking at Rittenhouse Square Park), walked around a bit and then headed to the airport with plenty of time to spare.

Table set up and my sweet friend Amy! (excuse how huge I look next to her tiny self :P)

My stud, and Annette and Keith (they got married in October)

Sunday morning- we're coming kids!  And we spotted Donald Trump at the airport, and Jayme took a quick pic with him haha

We were super excited to see the kids, and they were all smiles, hugs and "I love yous" when they saw us.  It was a perfect welcome!  Then off they went to bed!
It was a great weekend- thanks to Grama H and Aunt Abby for taking great care of the littles!

Reading with Gibby Monday morning, and Hannah's new shirt: "Last name hungry, first name always" :)
