Last Day in AMI

This was written last night...

Well, we are back at home and the littles are in bed.  Back in the saddle we are!  Of course, big things are coming soon (baby anyone?), but first I wanted to document our last day in paradise!  Both kids were up in the middle of the night Thursday, though I always seem to grab the wrong one lol.  Hannah (surprise!) was up for 2 hours!  From 3-5am.  I thought I'd just go lay down with her in the bed that's in her room and she'd zonk out again (she had already been up twice).  No such luck- she thought it would be fun to play salon while snuggling, then ask for iPad (no ma'am!) and I can't remember what else, all the while she became more and more awake!  Eventually I stuck her back in the Pack n Play and kept repeating "Go to sleep!  Go to sleep!" until she gave up.  Hahahaha- we did sleep until 9am though, but then I felt badly because Jayme and Asher had been up since 715am!  Poor guys.
I helped get the kids ready for the beach and then went and grabbed coffee and donuts and met them there.  They were in full sandcastle making mode.  :)
After the beach we went back to the pool then Hannah took a nap and the boys went to play mini golf while I started to pack, sigh...
After Hannah's nap we went to dinner at The Feast and it was delish again!   We went to walk on the Anna Maria Pier and grabbed some more ice cream before heading back to the fish house and then to the beach for sunset!  We continued packing after we got the kids to bed but did sneak in some Olympics before falling asleep.  Simple, sweet and fun!
I never succeeded in getting the "perfect" sunset picture but we tried (as you will be able to see).  Both nights of sunset were well after normal bedtime, and we felt it!
Today the kids had out of body experiences while we drove home haha.  They were a bit nuts in the car, but we made it home at about 5pm and unpacked everything before their bedtime!  THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU to Grandpa who took excellent care of the dogs.  The "fish house" doesn't allow them, so we really appreciate it!  They were quite happy on their vacation as well!
So glad we got the opportunity to spend time together, and last night I asked the kids and Jayme what their favorite part of the week was.
Asher: "The pool,  minigolf (in particular the golfing and the flat pennies he got to make), the beach (though he doesn't like to get in) and lemonade."
Hannah: "Me like pink!"  She's referring to her ice cream she got both Thursday and Friday evenings!
Jayme: "Watching the Olympics with you"- that's lucky me :)
Nicki: "Having you (Jayme) all to ourselves for 7 whole days!"
We have begun talks about next year's vacation already... :)
