We did meet Amanda and the kids for brunch last week, and they had a blast running around in the play place at Chickfila enjoying being together. Until it got loud, then they were ready to head out! Always fun with cousins!
I wrote a post about Friday at the zoo, and on Saturday we braved the heat to go to the beach! It actually wasn't too bad, we arrived early, and the kids were excited about the "puddles" and even ended up in the ocean some! It was very calm with virtually no waves. Asher has been very resistant all summer to "the big water," and it was nice to see him enjoy it, mostly with Daddy. They invented a game called "Dunkin' Donuts" where Jayme would drop down into the water, up to their shoulders. I came along and did the same with Hannah, but am trying not to lift them too much, and I really don't like not being able to see what's under me!!! So Daddy got a workout with both kids :).
Helping Daddy set up the umbrella
The sun was too bright for non squinty pics, but they had fun making "angels" in the water and sand
No need for a double stroller here!!! They figured out how to live harmoniously if they both wanted a ride back to the car :). Short Video
Yesterday after her nap, Hannah didn't want to come out of her crib, so we spent some time playing with her in her room. Asher joined the fun in her crib, and I attempted some pics without the flash. Needless to say they didn't come out well, but Hannah was more than happy to let me try! Silly kids!
Happy Girl :)
Love those big brown eyes :)
Also, yesterday, Pito was interested in my sandwich, but took up a spot next to Asher to watch for any crumbs being dropped while we played Trouble and The Hungry Caterpillar Game before quiet time. Asher is very nervous around dogs, even Pito, but he tolerated his new buddy. He looked up at me and said "He wants to be my buddy, like Daddy." So sweet :) He doesn't always want to pet Pito, but likes it when Pito kind of follows him around the room. He says he loves him and "Can we keep him forever?" We explained that dogs don't last as long as humans, but we will love him until he goes to doggie heaven. The next day he asked me "Which one are you picking to go to doggie heaven, Pito or Diego?" I laughed. Oh the mind of a 3 year old!
Jayme: Well, there's a special opening that the baby comes out of.
Asher: What kind of opening?
Jayme: Well, it's a hole. :P
Asher: A big hole or a little hole?
You can imagine the answer to that one! So now Asher asks "Where is the big hole the baby comes out of?" I keep deferring hahahaha.
That's us in a nutshell!!!
