Beach and Playdate!

Last week was a first for Hannah.  On Thursday she had a playdate at our house with her school BFF Hannah Pugh.  Her baby sister Naomi was sick, so I offered to take Hannah for a couple of hours so her mom could have a bit of a break.  We picked Hannah up right after Hope's swim lesson, and then dropped her off right before we got Asher from school.  It wasn't a long playdate, but they managed to have a ton of fun!  They get very silly when they are around each other, which is really cute to see!  They played outside with some little airplane thingys we have, along with the water table.  They also had a picnic lunch and ice cream for dessert!  We hope to do it again soon!!!

The day before we had our first beach outing of the season- we were just missing Daddy!  Asher has been a bit obsessed, saying he wants to catch a minnow, put it in a water bottle, and then take it home for a pet.  I've been telling him the fish won't stay  alive like that, only to hear about 1000 ways how he can make it live.  When I picked him up from school he was sad when I told him no fish would be coming home with us, but he bounced back when we arrived at the beach, and they had fun playing in the sand!  Hope did pretty well, only getting nervous when the tide started getting close to us.  The big kids did a great job listening, and I am confident this summer the 4 of us can go to the beach without Jayme, though it's obviously much better and easier with him!  Hannah was proud of herself for getting in the water up to her ankles, "Mommy I am so brave!"  It will take a few visits I'm sure, to get our confidence in the water back, but I see many great beach days ahead for us this summer!
