Asher's School Christmas Program

Yesterday was Asher's school Christmas program.  I dropped him off in the carpool lane, then headed to the chapel, video cameras (yes plural- good video and iphone video) in hand.  I was very excited, and super excited that Jayme was able to join me, despite being bogged down with what seems to have been a migraine.  The problem was that there were no good seats!  The best seats were reserved for people who did big donations at the beginning of the year (yeesh), and the rest of us are left with a lot of poles obstructing our view!  None the less, I was super excited.  When they started walking in, everyone awwww'd and talked about how cute they all were, looking around in confusion and wondering where did all these people come from??  On the way to school I was talking to Asher about how he was going to stand up and sing his songs in the big chapel.  He said "I don't like the big chapel, there's too many people there."  However, he did a great job and though he didn't sing, he did most of the motions and even smiled some!
I am ashamed to admit, however, that I was THAT mom.  Our baby was in his first performance of his life, and I.could.not.see.him once he got on the platform.  I'm still not sure why they put the kids 3 rows deep on a 3 inch platform and not higher up on the other risers that were present for the bigger kids to use?  The pews we all sat in were taller than the kids!  So, I became a crazy lady, sneaking around trying to get a view of my kid!  I thought I had it nailed when I realized he was front and center.  I went to the very back center aisle, planning on using my zoom feature on the video camera, when all of a sudden BAM!  the music teacher knelt down, directly in front of Asher, and I couldn't even see his mop of curly hair sticking out above her.  She wasn't big, he is just shorter than her!  Arg!!!!  Was I going to miss every moment of this??  It wasn't even that I wasn't at a good angle, we just straight up couldn't see him. period.
So I became one with a large pillar and stood there for a song, but then got nervous I was blocking everyone's view, so I knelt on my knees with some other parents, and that helped, but I still couldn't really see him.  So on the last song, I literally got on the same row as the teachers (sitting cross legged on the floor) and was FINALLY able to see him, when some of the kids moved a bit!  Success!!  I was THAT mom, but I did get to see my kid perform his songs...well, do the motions anyways!  Ahhhh first world problems.  You'll see the best video I got below.  He loves school, and that's what counts, but the teacher in me wants to know why didn't you use the taller risers???
As soon as we walked out of the chapel Asher inquired "Where's my baby?"  I said "who do you mean?"  He said "Where's Hannah?"  Cutie pie!  I left her with a babysitter, so we could fully enjoy the program.  It was a good decision, as Jayme was under the weather, and I, well you know the story now.... wouldn't have been easy with Hannah in tow!
I got to take our little man to breakfast afterwards, during which he ate about half of my avocado toast for me, before dropping a muffin off at Jayme's office.
Thanks for reading, hope I painted a good picture for you!  Hugs to all.

Asher is in a blue plaid shirt in the middle of the pack.  After they jump like reindeer, you can see him for the remainder of the song.
