Last Weekend

This past Saturday and Sunday were good.  Thanks to Jayme, I was able to go down to DeLand on Saturday afternoon to spend some time with Grandpa, and Abby was there as well.  I arrived shortly before dinner and brought some white bean chicken chili and brownies for dessert :).  After we dined we got dressed and went to Elizabeth Hall on Stetson's campus to enjoy Amanda's choir- the Stetson Young Singers.  She has done an amazing job with them over the last year, after being asked to step in and be the director with short notice!  I am so proud of her, and love watching her conduct as well as sing.  You can tell she has a passion for music, and I am one of the lucky ones who gets to watch her make music!  The cool part is that we were in the choir when we were young, when we lived in DeLand.  One of the songs Amanda's choir sang on Saturday night was one I sang when I was in the choir, many moons ago!  It's called All Things Bright and Beautiful, and was always one of my favorites.  I am posting a video of it as well.
The other neat thing is that Joanna is in the choir too!  It's fun to watch her expressions as she sings.  She is in the front row on the left hand side.

After the concert we congratulated Amanda and Joanna on a job well done, and then got some dessert at Perkins with Abby and Grandpa.

The next morning I slept in- it was glorious!  Abby and Grandpa were good stewards and went to church, but I enjoyed not having to get up with the kiddos- sorry Jayme!  Jayme and the kids arrived at Grandpa's at about 11, and we went and grabbed some donuts for my breakfast at a local joint, and took them to Stetson's campus to enjoy the beautiful day and let the kids run around.  Then we met Grandpa and Abby for lunch at Sonny's.

The kids love this dog statue at GG's!

After successfully napping both kiddos, Sunday evening we headed to Deltona Alliance to watch 4 of Asher and Hannah's cousins, as well as their great grandpa sing in the Christmas program.  In addition to our family singers, we got to watch Amanda lead the service, and conduct the adult choir.  She wears so many hats!  The kids did get somewhat restless, but enjoyed watching their cousins.  After we had some cookies before heading back to Jax.  It was a weekend of eating sweets I just realized!  It's nice to be with family, and to give Grandpa extra hugs, as we all missed Grandma so much.  She and Grandpa have always been at every single one of our choir concerts...
We look forward to more family fun this coming weekend.  Love to all.

Here's a few pics of the kids with Jayme at the beach on Saturday night :)
